In a powerful display of momentum, CNTO Toronto took the "New Gallop" to the heart of Canada’s adventure and sports community. By participating in The Outdoor Adventure Show 2026 across Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto, it showcased China’s landscapes and popular tourism spots to a new demographic of explorers.

Bridging the gap between China’s diverse geography and Canadian outdoor culture, proving that the spirit of adventure knows no borders. The high engagement pavilions became hubs of activity, where thousands of Canadians discovered that China’s modern infrastructure and VISA policy now makes the natural wonders more accessible to tourists.

A New Gallop: Breaking New Ground with a Landmark Winter 2026 Celebration

China National Tourist Office (CNTO), Toronto, is proud to announce the resounding success of its Winter 2025/2026 season, as the year of the horse leaps forward. Embracing the spirit of the "New Gallop," this Winter season has been defined by high-velocity outreach and groundbreaking regional campaigns that has strengthened China’s tourism presence on the Canadian stage.

To welcome the Lunar New Year, CNTO Toronto co-organized the 4th (2026) GTA Youth Ice-Fusion Spring Festival Gala. It was an event filled with high-energy fusion of Chinese heritage and future-forward creativity.

World-class Canadian figure skating athletes, together with multicultural youth athletes from the University of Toronto’s figure skating team and several local sports clubs, as well as outstanding skaters and sports enthusiasts, presented a series of performances including figure skating, dance on ice, and synchronized skating. Following the performances, the “Future Stars” teams of the North American Youth Ice Hockey Association held a friendly ice hockey match, bringing the atmosphere at the venue to high spirits momentum. The event also featured a China tourism photo exhibition and several booths showcasing Chinese culture and sceneries. The event served as a vibrant springboard for the visit China 2026 initiatives and started the Chinese New Year celebrations.

2. Fusion in Motion: The 4th (2026) GTA Youth Ice-Fusion Spring Festival Gala

CNTO Toronto hosted the "Explore China with Free Visa 2026" event in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. This groundbreaking outreach represents a major leap forward in our mission to reach every land of the Canadian public. The mandate was focused on one transformative goal: introducing the convenience of China’s 2026 visa-free policy.

For the residents of Yellowknife in the North, who traditionally have had less exposure to Chinese culture, this event was more than just a tourism event and policy briefing—it served as a window for cross-cultural discovery and firsthand experience, carrying immense value for both public outreach and social connection. The introduction of the visa-free policy marks a significant milestone in China’s efforts to boost tourism.

3. Breaking New Ground: "Explore China with Free Visa" Tourism Promotion in the Northwest Territories

The CNTO Toronto launched a two-month digital showcase at Pacific Mall, the largest Asian mall in North America and a premier year-round tourist destination. The Winter tourism digital campaign took the shopping mall’s center stage at the landmark mega-screen, capturing the attention of millions.

The city of Markham is with over half of its population being Asian Canadian, and with significant number to be Second Generation Asian. Pacific Mall’s visitor demographics is vested with kids, teenagers and young adults. The campaign resonated with second-generation Asian Canadians, the digital showcase provided a breathtaking look at the landscapes, traditions, and modern marvels awaiting them in China.

By maintaining a high-visibility presence, we ensured that the message of "Explore China" remained top-of-mind during the busiest shopping and festive season of the year.

4. Winter Travel and Tourism Digital Campaign at Retail Landscape

Rounding out our winter season with a message of wellness and peace, the 2026 Toronto International Taijiquan Day has launched successfully in March 2026. This event is hosted by the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Toronto, and the China National Tourist Office, Toronto. The event is produced by the Fengcai Arts Association, brought together Tai Chi teams from across the Greater Toronto Area.

The day served as a shining stage for cultural exchange and community integration, promoting the art of Tai Chi as a bridge to a healthier, more balanced lifestyle. This celebration serves as a heartfelt invitation for Canadians to journey to the birthplace of Tai Chi, where they can discover the deep cultural roots and breathtaking scenery that make China a world-class destination for authentic exploration.
