Foreign Ministry Spokesperson’s Remarks on Including Canada and the UK in the Visa-Free Program
Q: During the Canadian and UK leaders’ visits to China, the Chinese side said that it would include the two countries in its unilateral visa-free program. Do you have any updates?
A: To further facilitate cross-border travel, China decides to, starting from February 17, 2026, extend its visa waiver policy to ordinary passport holders from Canada and the UK. Ordinary passport holders from the two countries can be exempted from visa to enter China and stay for up to 30 days for business, tourism, family/friends visit, exchange and transit purposes. The policy will be effective until December 31, 2026.

问：此前加拿大、英国领导人访华时，中方表示将对两国实施单方面免签政策。请问目前进展如何？
答：为进一步便利中外人员往来，中方决定自2026年2月17日起，对加拿大、英国持普通护照人员实施免签政策，两国持普通护照人员来华经商、旅游观光、探亲访友、交流访问、过境不超过30天，可免办签证入境。上述免签政策实施至2026年12月31日。
